No. You cannot charge your AirPods with the iPhone. Even though both AirPods and iPhones have wireless charging, Apple has not enabled reverse wireless charging on iPhones. But you can use your iPhone’s wireless charger to charge the AirPods wirelessly.

Trick To Charge AirPods With iPhone Wirelessly?

As mentioned, Apple has not introduced a feature that lets you wirelessly charge AirPods with iPhone.

But many people have found a trick that actually lets you charge the AirPods using the iPhone for a brief moment.

Although you cannot fully charge the AirPods with this trick, it shows that iPhone has all the tech needed to wirelessly charge AirPods with reverse wireless charging, but for some reason, Apple has not enabled the same yet.

So let’s see how.

Let’s say you have an Apple MagSafe battery pack.

As soon as you place the battery back on the back of the iPhone, it starts to charge the iPhone instantly.

Now plug the iPhone for charging, and place the MagSafe battery pack on the back of the iPhone.

If you look closer, you will notice that even though the MagSafe battery pack is not directly connected to the charger, it charges via the iPhone.

It means the iPhone is connected to the charger, and the iPhone is wirelessly charging the MagSafe battery pack.

Now comes the trick.

If you slowly slide the MagSafe battery pack out and at the same time place the AirPods case on the back of the iPhone, you will notice that the AirPods charge for a brief moment.

It is to be noted that the AirPods only charge for about 3 to 5 seconds, so it is not a viable method to charge your AirPods.

But this shows that reverse wireless charging technology is possible on iPhones, and it is just a matter of a software update enabling the same.

This way, even if you don’t have a charger and your AirPods battery is too low, you can reverse the wireless charge the same using an iPhone.

Can You Charge AirPods With Other Phones Wirelessly

Yes. You can wirelessly charge your AirPods using other Android phones if they supports reverse wireless charging. I was able to charge my AirPods Pro wirelessly by placing it on the back of my Nothing Phone(1).

If you have an Android phone that supports reverse wireless charging, you can use it to wirelessly charge your AirPods.

During my flight from New York to London, I was able to charge my AirPods using an Android phone.

I went to settings and enabled Reverse wireless charging, and placed the AirPods on the back of the phone, and in about 15 minutes, the AirPods charged enough to play for hours.

Remember that charging your AirPods wirelessly with other phones will not be very fast. The charging speed depends on the reverse wireless charging tech of the phone.

Firstly, connect the wireless charger to the wall outlet.

Can iPhone 14 charge AirPods?

No. You cannot charge your AirPods with iPhone 14. iPhone 14 series does not support reverse wireless charging yet. For the same reason, you cannot charge AirPods wirelessly using iPhone 14. But you can use your iPhone’s wireless charger to charge the AirPods, and it should work fine.
